It might feel like summer camp, but we know it’s a destination wedding…
We know it’s not easy to get all the way to northern Michigan, and we couldn’t be more grateful for those of you who can make it. That said, if you can’t make it, we completely understand and can’t wait to celebrate with you another way!
Camp agenda
We cannot wait to make memories with you all!
Please note: we have activities starting as early as Thursday evening, but zero pressure to come that early. We know it’s a big commitment to make it all the way to northern michigan even for 1 day!
-
For folks able to get there Thursday, we will have a welcome-to-camp pizza party and campfire stories. More details to come.
-
Friday is a full-on summer camp fun day! Be sure to let us know if you can make (it will be in your RSVP form) so we can assign you a cabin and you can compete for the big prize!
Friday night is a casual barbeque dinner and toasts, followed by karaoke for all who are inclined to get goofy in front of friends and strangers.
-
Saturday is THE day! Nuptials will begin at a normal ceremony time, we’ll keep you posted on the details.
-
Sunday we will solidify memories and say grateful goodbyes over a casual brunch by the lake.
Getting to camp
🗺 Location
White Birch Lodge - 571 Meguzee Point Rd, Elk Rapids, MI
You can arrive to camp as early as the evening of the 11th (Thursday)–but no pressure, we know it’s a big commitment. The closest airport is Traverse City, or you can plan to drive from Detroit, Chicago, Grand Rapids, or wherever else you fly into.
Note: while we will be at camp and totally acting like kids, Camp Carolou is an adult-only camp. Tell your kids you’ll bring back stories :)
🛖 Lodging
Unless you have already heard from us with specific lodging instructions, we recommend Elk Rapids (7m from the venue) or Traverse City (30m) where there are hotel and Airbnb options. The Dexter Hotel in Elk Rapids or Grand Traverse Resort come recommended.
For a group that wants to stay together, we have a hold on a nice Airbnb just a few minutes away. If you have 8+ people that are interested, send us a message!
There are no reliable Ubers or Lyfts in the area, so we recommend renting, borrowing, or car-pooling if you are staying off-site!
